Foreign Slippers
Foreign Slippers recently supported Irish band Duke Special at the Union Chapel Islington. I really fell in love with Swedish songstress ‘Gabi Frodens’ voice, its so beautifully haunting and emotive and she really has that vibrato down to a tee. The songs are well crafted and catchy, she’s one of those ridiculously talented individuals you’d usually love to hate-(she also did the art work for her album!) However, I found it hard not to warm to her, as she jokingly plugged her album saying if we all bought it, it would enable her to eat until September… at least!
As cheesy as it sounds, this reminded me that there are so many talented artists out there struggling, yet giving it their all. They continue to make music even when all the odds seem stacked against them. I guess we should always be very grateful for that. I recommend you check Foreign slippers out and be sure to buy their album. Not because Gabi needs to eat but because it’s really very, very good!
