Revolt for TWILL issue 13
I really adore these shots……I came across it on the Ones to Watch website http://theones2watch.com/ It was also published in TWILL issue 13. There is something disturbing about this shoot.. It makes me feel slightly unsettled and I just love it!.. Its one of those shoots that really makes you think.. It’s not just a pretty shoot, it’s a statement shoot. Its bold and brass and it’s not afraid to say ‘fu*k you!’ or something along those lines..
Although Burberry model Cara Delevigne is incredibly pretty.. She has such an interesting look, a seductive edge. It doesn’t surprise me that she has landed the SS11 Burberry campaign. There’s certainly something terribly Alice in Wonderland about her..and those eye brows! These images provoke me, they make me want to go a bit mad at a decadent party!
They are wild and careless yet so cleverly put together. I particularly love the styling by Tena Strok and set design by Kentaro Poteliakhoff. There is a tale to be told in each image, which isn’t necessarily a fairy tale. I find the shots to be captivating and above all interesting. It just leaves me yearning for more…I love the tattoos, the Russian matryoshka dolls, the old camera, the smoking in the bath, the iconic bra burning image…And that taxidermy head piece by Charlie le Mindu!.. oh Charlie! it’s only fabulous! It’s the artistic styling and thoughtful props that make these images come alive. Nice work guys and gals.
